COMMUNITY ACTIONS
WORKSHOP: Collaborating with afro-descendant, activist, braiding master “Negra Jhô”, we conduct free practical workshops aimed at spreading the art of braiding kinky hair in disadvantaged communities in the interior of Bahia, Brazil. In these workshops, we also organized lectures to combat the prejudice associated with 'bad hair. Our purpose was to encourage afro-descendant women to help them affirm their Afro identity and boost their self-esteem.
